Outside of a three year stint in the U.S. Army, and two years living in the Midwest, Jim is a lifelong Mainer. He was born in Bath and later moved to Cape Elizabeth. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the military and worked for the Armed Forces Network as a news reporter in Berlin, Germany. Following his time in the service, he came home and attended the University of Maine, where he received a degree in political science. Eager to return to television news, he worked as a reporter in Sioux City, Iowa for two years. Jim returned to Maine once again, for good this time, working for television stations in Portland as a reporter, anchor, and producer. As a journalist, politics was always his favorite subject to cover, so he was always drawn to the Statehouse.
In 2011, Jim was fortunate enough to be hired as Communications Director for the Speaker of the House. Jim is thrilled to have the same position for the Senate Republicans and is anticipating a very exciting and interesting two years.
Jim is the father of three boys, and lives with his wife, Sybille, in Brunswick.
